Coming to see a Psychologist for the first time can be daunting and the company strives to make clients feel at ease from the very first point of contact. They also aim to reduce the stigma associated with mental health and neurodiversity and provide a warm, supportive and inclusive space where children and adults can feel that they belong.

A Bit About April

April is a Clinical Psychologist and the founder/director of Colourful Minds Psychological Services. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with honours, and a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. She is also endorsed as a Clinical Psychologist and has undertaken additional supervised study for an additional two years. She has been consulting for over 6 years working in private settings and volunteering at numerous organisations. April endorses evidence based practice and has contributed to clinical research on a number of occasions and conducts monthly support groups for Autistic women. April is passionate about education and also provides additional education and training to other partner allied health companies.

A Bit About Mia

Mia is a registered psychologist who prioritises building a strong therapeutic relationship with her clients to help them to feel heard and understood in a non-judgemental space. She has a comprehensive understanding of evidence- based psychological interventions and extensive experience in practicing Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). She also draws upon on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Enhanced Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for Eating Disorders (CBT-E), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and has informed knowledge of Schema Therapy. Mia has experience working with complex mental health presentations such as severe anxiety disorders and depression, eating disorders, borderline personality disorder, PTSD and complex trauma presentations. These areas of expertise are a wonderful addition to our service range to complement our traditional focus on ASD and ADHD. Mia has a passion for working with adolescents and young adults to navigate developmental challenges in their lives. Mia is also taking expressions of interest for a DBT group.

I have a special interest in working with children as well as adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD and chronic health problems. I am a certified Autism Spectrum Disorder assessor and conduct assessments as requested.
